This is Jaime Menegus.
Because she is something between my other half and an extension of myself while I'm here, I felt like she deserved her own post. Jaime is in Tentena hoping to lead a course on land rights and ecological law in response to violations that have been happening all over Sualwesi. She's also a Peace Corps Senegal alum, which I assumed meant that she'd basically be barefoot mud hiking her way through this town and starting fire with sticks. When I saw her freeze in the face of a miniature spotted frog her first day here, those assumptions dissipated quickly. I am pleased to report that she whines, loses things, and needs naps just as much as I do.
She also thinks that she's not photogenic, but I disagree. To add to this, twice now Indonesian girls have come up to her to tell her they think she's pretty. Then they've stopped, looked at me, said nothing and walked away.
